Mistral Vibe at Work: Work, Skills and Code Without Coding Intensive Training
Beginner · 3 half days or flexible as in-house training · In-House
Do more, wait less – with an AI from Europe. Le Chat is now called Mistral Vibe and has grown from a chatbot into an agent: in Work mode you hand Vibe entire tasks across your tools, and in Code mode you build your own small applications. This workshop is for everyone who doesn't code – and still wants to get far more out of AI.
You learn how Vibe Work plans, uses your files and tools through Connectors and asks for your approval before sensitive actions. You set up Scheduled tasks for recurring work, maintain the Knowledge Base and capture your own processes as Skills. With Mini apps, the Code Interpreter and Canvas you build small tools, analyses and presentations you can share with your team. Finally you take your first step into Vibe Code and clarify which privacy settings you should use in your company.
The concept is based on our successful Claude workshop for non-programmers and tailored to the features of Mistral Vibe.
Agenda
From chatbot to agent: how Mistral Vibe works
Le Chat became Mistral Vibe: one agent with two modes, Work for knowledge work and Code for software.
- Work, Code and Chat (legacy): what each mode offers and why Chat is being phased out
- Models (Mistral Medium, Small, Large): which model is enough for what
- Fast/think toggle: quick answers or thorough, multi-step work
- Briefing well: goal, context, format, success criterion
- Plausible is not true: check results and spot typical mistakes
Vibe Work: hand over tasks instead of typing
Vibe presents a plan, works through it step by step and shows you every intermediate step.
- Files and Canvas: process PDF, Word, Excel, presentations and images, refine results in Canvas
- Connectors: connect Gmail, Outlook, Google Calendar, Slack, Notion, SharePoint and more
- Safety and approvals: “Continue”, “Always allow” or “Decline” – what Vibe may do without you
- Todos panel: follow live what Vibe is doing and stop it in time
- Web search and Open URL: research current information and check sources
Automate and remember: Vibe works while you sleep
Every run starts at zero, so knowledge and processes need a fixed home.
- Scheduled tasks: recurring jobs, e.g. a morning briefing every weekday at 7am
- Knowledge Base: what Vibe remembers about you and your business, and how you manage it
- Projects and Custom instructions: persistent instructions and context for a topic
- Libraries: your own document collections as a knowledge source
Teach Vibe new tricks: Skills and Workflows
Capture it once, reuse it forever, instead of explaining it every time.
- Built-in Skills: e.g. deep-research, data-analysis, meeting-prep and document-review
- Your own Skills: show a process once and capture it with “save this as a Skill”
- Sharing with your team: personal Skills and workspace Skills for colleagues
- Open standard: why Skills also work in other AI tools
- Workflows: predefined processes in the team workspace
Your own tools without coding: Mini apps, data, presentations
From a result in the chat to a tool you can share.
- Mini apps: build small interactive applications in Canvas and share them via link
- Code Interpreter: analyse spreadsheets, create charts and dashboards
- Presentations: create slides in Canvas and export them to PowerPoint
- Image generation and Voice mode: create images and talk to Vibe
Vibe Code: the next step
Vibe gets the keys to the workshop: its own project, a secure sandbox, your approval.
- Work or Code: which tool for which job
- Code in the browser: remote sessions in the cloud, connected to GitHub, even from your phone
- Reviewing changes: read diffs, approve actions, accept results
- Hands-on project: build your own small website together with Vibe
Privacy and use in your company
A European provider, but you still have to choose the right settings yourself.
- Data residency: EU hosting by default and when data may leave the EU
- Turning off training: where to stop your data being used for model training
- Temporary Chat and Knowledge settings: handle sensitive content deliberately
- Team and Enterprise: shared workspace, admin rights, connectors per organisation
- Outlook: Mistral Studio and API: your own solutions built on Mistral models
