The latest version of Vue.js is finished and released. Time to take a closer look at the new features. Version 3 brings even more and better tools for developing websites and web applications; and it's also smaller and faster. Most features are backwards compatible, so you can get started right away.

Using small examples, we'll try out some features and see how the switch to version 3 works best. The questions of which frameworks and extensions can already be used and which ones you can leave out thanks to version 3 will also be answered in this workshop.

Agenda

In this workshop, we look at the new features and changes in Vue.js 3.0 as well as the experimental features of upcoming versions:

  • the new Composition API and the future of mixins
  • the Teleport (formerly Portal) component and Suspense
  • the new v-model with multiple bindings
  • virtual (transparent) elements with fragments
  • the new Vue.js core and improved reactivity
  • the experimental script setup and style vars tags
